Charles D. Urstadt

Charles D. Urstadt is a theater producer focused on bringing new voices and innovative works to the stage.

Charlie’s current Broadway productions include Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and Wanted. Recent projects include Call Me Izzy, Floyd Collins (Tony Award nomination for Best Revival of a Musical; Drama Desk Award nomination for Outstanding Revival of a Musical), Appropriate (Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play; Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Play), La Egoísta, Sugar Daddy, and Long Way Down

With decades of experience in the real estate field, he served as chairman of the board of directors of Urstadt Biddle Properties, Inc., a real estate investment trust traded on the New York Stock Exchange. The company owned 77 properties, which contained approximately 5.3 million square feet.

Charlie is a current board member of Le Petit Theatre and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and is a member of The Broadway League and The Drama League.

He has previously served on the boards of the Ensemble Studio Theater, Friends of WNET/Thirteen, the New York State Board of Historic Preservation, the Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans, the Miami Design Preservation League, and the Miami Beach Planning Board.

Charlie splits his time between New York and New Orleans, where he resides with his husband, David Bernard, and their Boston Terrier, Dolly.
