Look What Arrived.
It's not every day the FedEx guy delivers a Tony Award with your name on it.
Honestly, winning any award is not something I ever contemplated four years ago when I got into the theater business. I simply wanted to help create something that entertains people and maybe take them out of a sometimes difficult world for a couple of hours. If we could say something meaningful or touch them in some way, even better.
Last year, when I was asked to join the production team of Schmigadoon!, I agreed - in about two minutes. It had all the elements of success: a wonderful book, music, and lyrics… amazing people behind it… and it would fulfill a crying need for a funny, joyful fantasy.
I cannot tell you how happy I am for everyone on the Schmigadoon! team who helped make this show such a success. The real honor for me is being a part of that wonderful group of theater professionals.
But I do love having this little hunk of stone and metal.
